A bio that tells people why to follow, in 3 seconds.

Your bio needs to say who you help, how, and what to do next. These 5 prompts walk you through it. It's the same process I used with Carla.

1

Audit your current bio

Shows you what a stranger actually understands from your bio right now.

Act as a first-time visitor to my Instagram profile. Here's my name field, bio and link: [paste them]. In 3 seconds, what do you think I do, who is it for, and what should you do next? Be honest about anything that's unclear.

2

Get clear on the basics

Pulls the 4 things every strong bio needs out of your head and into words.

Ask me one question at a time to find out: who I help, the result I help them get, what makes me credible, and the one action I want visitors to take. Then summarize my answers in one sentence each.

3

Write 5 versions

Gives you options to pick from instead of staring at a blank box.

Using my answers, write 5 Instagram bios under 150 characters. Each should say who I help and how, include one proof point, and end with a clear call to action pointing to my link. Make them warm, simple and different from each other.

Tip: Read them out loud. Pick the one that sounds most like you, not the cleverest one.

4

Use your name field for search

Your name field is searchable, so a keyword there helps the right people find you.

Suggest 5 name-field options that combine my name with a searchable keyword for [my niche], under 30 characters each.

5

Make your link count

Points visitors to one clear next step.

Write a short line for the end of my bio that invites people to [download my free guide / join my free community], plus 3 button labels for my link page.

Tip: One link, one clear action. Too many choices means fewer clicks.
