The project includes two skills. Start with the simple one.

Clean User-Facing Text: Removes invisible characters and odd spacing from text. Works on its own, with nothing extra to set up. This is the one most creators need.

Remove AI Marks: The full version. Also cleans hidden data from images, PDFs, Word files and more. It needs a small helper program running on your computer, which Claude can set up for you.

Install it

Claude installs the skill for you. Paste this into Claude Code (or the Code tab in the Claude desktop app).

Install the clean-user-facing-text skill from github.com/guillaumemeyer/watermarks-remover. Walk me through each step in plain language.

Paste in a caption, script or email you wrote with AI and get back a clean copy.

Clean your files

With the full version, Claude can clean hidden data from your own images and documents before you share them.

Use the remove-ai-marks skill to inspect [file name] first and tell me what's in it. Then clean it and save a new copy.

Tip: Always ask it to "inspect first." You'll see exactly what's there before anything changes.

One honest note

Use this on your own work only.

Still disclose AI when it's required: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube ask creators to label realistic AI-made images and video. Cleaning a file doesn't change those rules, and schools, clients and employers may have their own.

It isn't a magic eraser: Some AI signals built into images can survive cleaning. Think of it as tidying up your files, not hiding where they came from.
